Training of Business Skills
The women were trained in entrepreneurial skills by Rtn. Constance Nyamikoka, (Tororo Youth Initiative for Professional Development, TYPID) in 8 modules over a period of six months. The curriculum also included strengthening women's self-confidence, working in a team, addressing problems and solving them together. This training was sponsored by the Austrian partners privately and supported by their Rotary Clubs (Innsbruck Alpin and Kitzbühel).
The official graduation ceremony with the presentation of certificates took place in Kidera on 15th of December 2024 - together with TYIPD, the Austrian partners (Doris (RC Innsbruck Alpin) and Judith (RC Kitzbühel)) and RC Gaba.
This is the first step towards a self-determined future.
A pitch was organised by Doris and Judith in December 2024, with the prize money sponsored by RC Innsbruck Alpin. A jury selected the winners, who used the Award money to work as a team to establish their businesses.
Through a series of practical workshops, the women have taken big steps toward economic independence. With access to targeted microloans and hands-on business guidance, existing small enterprises are expanding - and exciting new initiatives, including a local community bakery, are officially taking off.
